Brushing with fluoride toothpaste doesn’t just benefit the teeth; it also helps prevent bleeding gums. Healthy gums are the foundation for healthy teeth. However, bacteria below the gum line can lead to gingivitis, gum disease, and bone loss. Thankfully, GSK has perfected a toothpaste formulation to combat gingivitis-causing bacteria.
Parodontax was developed initially by Dr. Focke, a German dentist, in 1937. GSK obtained the brand in 2001 before bringing it to market in 2017. Parodontax contains 0.45% stannous fluoride that kills bacteria and reduces carbohydrate metabolism. Also, it has 5% sodium tripolyphosphate (STP) to prevent and remove teeth stains. As a result, Parodontax is an everyday toothpaste that helps maintain optimal gum health between dental cleanings.

Toothpaste’s active and inactive ingredients have significantly evolved since its original inception with the Egyptians around 4 AD. Then, the Egyptians commonly used crushed rock salt, mint, and flowers to remove dental plaque and maintain healthy teeth. Today, you will find difficult-to-pronounce ingredients, such as tetrasodium pyrophosphate. Each element serves an essential purpose and is necessary for optimal performance. Also, you will find a toothpaste that targets specific needs, including gum care, whitening, sensitive teeth, and deep cleaning. From a dentist’s perspective, let’s look at the Top 3 Best Parodontax Toothpaste.
